Dituan Ross Tjampitjinpa is the younger of prominent artist -Naata Nungurrayi’s two children. Dituan (more commonly known as Tjitji) was around 10 years of age when he and his family walked out of the desert into Papunya with most of the Anatjari Tjampitjinpa’s group.
In the early 1980s, the family moved to Kintore when the settlement was established. Currently living in Alice Springs, Dituan began his career in painting in the late 1980’s early 1990’s while at Papunya. His painting technique depicts delicate earthy tones which are hypnotic and resemble those used for decorating aboriginal artifacts.
